About Us

Who We Are

We love good lighting. But we don’t make lights.

We make what makes good lighting possible — the framework that holds it where it should be — overhead.

Yardhaus builds Lightweight Outdoor Infrastructure (LOI): the poles, anchors, and geometry that let you bring light overhead with ease and confidence. We believe structure should disappear into the background — precise, permanent if you want, and beautiful without trying.

What We Believe

Great spaces don’t just look good — they feel right.

That feeling starts with light held at the right height, in the right place.

We believe in engineering over improvising, in design that earns its simplicity, and in making the overhead layer accessible to everyone with a drill, a free evening, and an eye for detail.

Built From the Ground Up — and Overhead

A family trip, a stubborn idea, and the search for the perfect evening light.

YARDHAUS started with a simple goal: recreate the feeling of Amsterdam evenings at home — the kind where light hangs easily above you, not stuck to fences or patios.

When Michael Carpenter couldn’t find anything that held up — not in the lumber aisle, the plumbing aisle, or online — he built his own. Cut, bent, welded, late nights in the shop. Friends noticed, asked for their own, and a side project turned into a design collaboration with Sprout Studios.

That result of that collaboration became Pillar Pro™, and the idea became YARDHAUS — a company built on Lightweight Outdoor Infrastructure™ (LOI): systems that make overhead lighting simple, stable, and beautiful.

The mission hasn’t changed:
We don’t make the lights. We make what holds them.
